Radom is a city in east-central Poland
It is located 100 kilometres south of Poland’s capital, Warsaw, on the Mleczna River, in the Masovian Voivodeship, having previously been the capital of Radom Voivodeship. Despite being part of the Masovian Voivodeship, the city historically belongs to Lesser Poland. For centuries, Radom was part of the Sandomierz Voivodeship of the Kingdom of Poland and the later Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It was an important center of administration, having served as seat of the Crown Council. The city is home to the biennial Radom Air Show, the largest and best-attended air show in Poland, held during the last weekend of August.
Znajduje się 100 km na południe od stolicy Polski, Warszawie, nad rzeką Mleczną, w województwie mazowieckim, będąc uprzednio stolica województwa radomskiego. Pomimo bycia częścią województwa mazowieckie, miasto historycznie należy do Lesser Polska. Przez wieki, Radom był częścią województwa sandomierskiego Królestwa Polskiego i późniejszego Obojga Narodów. To było ważnym ośrodkiem administracji, które służyły jako siedziby Rady Korony. Miasto jest domem dla dwuletniego Radom Air Show, największych i najlepiej z udziałem pokazu lotniczego w Polsce, który odbył się w ostatni weekend sierpnia.
